‘Fossora’ is the feminine version of the Latin word for ‘digger’ or, more specifically, ‘gravedigger’.

While details remain few and far between, the Icelandic artist’s latest apparently features a sextet of bass clarinets, gabber, and is thematically influenced by mushrooms.

Fossora also features contributions from Serpentwithfeet, Gabber Modus Operandi, and Björk’s children — Sindri and Ísadóra.

The album is set to arrive this autumn, although no specific release date has been confirmed as of yet.

It’ll mark Björk’s 10th studio album, following on from Utopia in 2017.
