Giovanni Nasta, founder of Unison Research and Opera Loudspeakers (1955-2020)

I only met Giovanni Nasta once, at the Consumer Electronics Show in January of 2011. He wound up having a huge impact on my life, as well as Colleen’s, for the last decade. Mr. Nasta was the founder of Opera Loudspeakers and the head of Unison Research, and Colleen and I represented his product from July of 2011 until October 2018, when we sadly stopped operations of Colleen Cardas Imports. His son, Bartolomeo, became one of our our dearest friends–not only in the high-end industry, but in life. We called him brother, and he called me brother and Colleen sister. In fact, we stopped calling him Bart a long time ago. If he was our brother, that made Giovanni Nasta our Italian father. We heard the news today of his passing after a long illness, and we are both devastated.
