Enhancements in Spatial Audio could arrive with camera-equipped AirPods for Apple devices like the iPhone by pinpointing the display position the user is viewing.

The AirPods will incorporate sensors that enable head-tracking spatial audio, and the cameras could enhance the feature by detecting the screen the user is watching from.

Future AirPods might identify tablets, smartphones, laptops, and displays, potentially even a TV or multiple devices, allowing audio to be narrowed based on what the user is looking at. Information will be conveyed for Visual Intelligence through the cameras.

Leaks about the camera-equipped AirPods appeared during the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate. Despite several references to the device, the new AirPods are not expected to hit the market until the fall of next year.
