John Monkman, Chi Thanh and Inta remix Booka Shade & Joplyn’s ‘Polar Lights’ on Blaufield Music

A production crafted by one of Germany’s leading electronic acts Booka Shade, and featuring the excellent vocals of fellow Berlin-based producer and vocalist Joplyn, ‘Polar Lights’ showcases yet another side to the vast and expansive Booka Shade sound palette. Originally featured on the duo’s latest album ‘Dear Future Self’, the emotive production now sees new life via three fresh reworks as the Blaufield Music bosses welcome London-based DJ and producer John Monkman, label regular Chi Thanh and rising pairing Inta.

Of the three new versions, Monkman’s interpretation kicks things off in hypnotic fashion as the UK talent merges warping electronics and soaring synths alongside pulsating arpeggios and metallic percussion, whilst Chi Thanh employs chunky, resonant analogue bass stabs alongside sweeping vocal snippets. The final remix comes via Scottish and South African duo Inta, who make their label debut in style utilising suspenseful builds and breaks comprised of snaking lead melodies, cavernous drum shots, and rich vocal hooks to offer up a peak-time rework to shape up the package.
