Legendary UK dub group Creation Rebel to reissue albums by way of On-U Sound

Seminal UK dub group Creation Rebel are to be the main focus of a brand new reissue marketing campaign by Adrian Sherwood’s On-U Sound label.

On twenty ninth March, six of the group’s traditional albums, initially launched between 1978 and 2023, will obtain contemporary vinyl pressings courtesy of the imprint. The reissues will cowl ‘Dub From Creation’ (1978), ‘Close Encounters Of The Third World’ (1978), ‘Rebel Vibrations’ (1979), ‘Starship Africa’ (1980), ‘Psychotic Jonkanoo’ (1981) and ‘Hostile Environment’ (2023).

In addition, On-U Sound will launch a six-disc CD field set, ‘High Above Harlesden (1978-2023)’, which spans 45 years of fabric by the dub group. 

Creation Rebel was initially assembled as a studio undertaking by a younger Adrian Sherwood for his first album recording session. This resulted in 1978’s ‘Dub From Creation’, which was engineered by UK dub pioneer DennisBovell.

The group developed from there, turning into the European touring band for an additional pioneering artist in Prince Far I and recording an extra collection of albums, with band chief and line-up mainstay CrucialTonyPhillips having extra artistic enter as time went on. Together with drummer Charlie Eskimo Fox and Ranking Magoo, Phillips continues to steer the band within the current day.
