Long time house innovator Mr C is using this lockdown time to get as creative as ever as he announces FreqStream, a vast portal presenting podcasts and live streams procured & produced by Mr.C & Future Magic. These include upfront house, techno, acid, and retro Mr.C DJ mixes, special guest podcasts, Superfreq artist mixes and record reviews to keep you dancing through these difficult days and beyond with the likes of Carl Cox, Art Department, Clive Henry, Eddie Richards and many more all locked in.
Superfreq Mr C has been at the forefront of the underground for decades as a DJ, label boss, producer and vital figurehead. He has a wealth of knowledge, understanding and passion that continues to burn bright and will now manifest itself in this bold and exciting new platform that allows you a widescreen window into every aspect of his musical life and rave culture itself.
On top of this adventurous new project he has also been busy in the studio as ever: Mr.C’s Radical Inclusion remixes are out now, his Wonkytonk collaboration with Radio Rental is released on 29 May and his East LA Tek collaboration with Superfreq partner Noel Jackson is released on 31 July all on Superfreq. First up is in the new series is Techno Tuesday, a weekly podcast taken from the recordings of the weekly Mr.C live streams that he’s now doing across his entire network. The music is almost 100% unreleased material covering forward thinking and cutting edge house, acid, techno and electro. You can hear the first couple of editions here https://freqstream.com
Then comes Mr.C Loves, a weekly podcast of very special guest DJs that Mr.C loves. Not only their music but their souls as people will be on show each Sunday from May 4th. There will be huge names as well s local heroes and up and coming talent who have touched his heart and made him shake his booty with guests like Eddie Richards, Carl Cox, Murf, Clive Henry, Art Department, Steve Bug, Colin Dale and Tara Brooks all confirmed.
Mr.C’s Magnificent 7 podcast will happen at the end of each month and be more like a record review radio show. Mr.C will pick the 7 promos that have “blown his mind” during the month and play them in their entirety with personal introductions. The Freq Stream podcast will be Superfreq label artists expressing their DJ or live talents with upfront podcasts and most will come two weeks before each artist’s single, EP or LP releases on the Superfreq label. Superfreq have releases lined up every three weeks for the duration of 2020 and the first six include J. Gabriel & Chuffing Buffy, Radio Rental (half of Wonkytonk with Mr.C), Ne.Hau, David Scuba, Noel Jackson (half of East LA Tek with Mr.C) and Lubelski.
Class of 88 is a weekly live stream on Friday playing garage, house, acid and techno circa 1986-1992 that fuelled the acid house revolution and became the backbone for the birth of rave culture itself. C will not be playing the obvious classics in his streams but keeping it underground and digging deep, with a monthly podcast to follow. There will also be one-off very special FreqStream Bonus Edition podcasts of mixes or live sets that simply need to be made public. FSBE1 will be Mr.C for Blackpool Festival – an hour long set recorded for the Back To The Old Pool fundraiser for the National Health Service (NHS) by Blackpool Festival, which raised over £20,000 for the NHS.
The sound quality for all these streams will be high and Mr.C will now be using re-stream so these podcasts will be broadcast simultaneously on his personal Richard West Facebook profile and his Mr.C Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Twitch as well as on his brand new FreqStream website. Meanwhile, all podcasts will appear on FreqStream, iTunes, YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud, Mixcloud & many other podcast outlets.
