SPL of Germany Debuts Crescendo Duo Mic Preamp

Montreal, Canada (April 1, 2020)—SPL of Germany has announced a new Crescendo Duo mic pre—a two-channel version of the SPL Crescendo microphone preamplifier that makes use of SPL’s 120V technology.

Crescendo Duo provides the same sonic and technical features as the original Crescendo, an 8-channel mic pre released in September 2018, and the company claims “it is nearly impossible to overdrive” the preamplifier.

Besides a switchable +48V phantom power for condenser microphones, Crescendo Duo offers a high-pass filter to eliminate low-frequency noise, the ability to reverse the polarity of the signal and a PAD to lower the input level. The two large VU meters visualize the output level of the amplified signal. The unit also allows individual control of Mic Gain and Output Gain. The output signal can be accessed at the rear via two parallel XLR outputs per channel.

The Crescendo Duo is set to ship worldwide April 14, 2020, and is distributed by Focal-Naim America in the US and Canada, it retails for $2,499 USD.
