Jaaps parents failed miserably at one thing, music. After years and years exposed to horrifying (Dutch language) music, poor Jaap discovers electronic music years later… As of then, Jaap found his passion. He listened to sets, and mix CDs, and radio recordings..

Nowadays the world is getting to know his music… For example guest mixes in numerous broadcasts on Radio 538 (the number 1 radio station in The Netherlands), guest mixes in Dennis Ruyers Dance Department (March and June 2011), and Tiësto’s Club Life (July 2010). His productions (original tracks, remixes, bootlegs) played lots of times by the world’s DJs. Artists like Sasha, John Digweed, Tiësto, Dave Seaman, and Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West) are playing Jaaps productions over and over again and are dying to play his new stuff every time.

The styles/genres that Jaap plays, varies every gig, depending on the gig and crowd. Sometimes he plays very deep with deep house and minimal, other times he treats the crowd with a more uplifting or raw-sounding set. It all depends on the evening…

The Warehouse Project is heading to Rotterdam

The Warehouse Project has chosen Rotterdam as the first ever international destination for the globally acclaimed event series to host a unique event outside of its home city Manchester. Rotterdam will be home to The Warehouse Project for one Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 28th until Sunday 30th April 2023.

The Warehouse Project will take over the former yard of the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM). Uniquely located in the middle of Europe’s largest port and conveniently right next to Rotterdam city, the RDM is easily accessible from the city centre.

Dubbed as Europe’s next must visit destination, Rotterdam as a city, shares huge synergy with Manchester, be that in its rich industrial past or its legendary status in the history of dance and club culture.  Built on innovation, the city of Rotterdam is filled with striking architecture, urban design and waterways with many docks and canals.

Rotterdam is very accessible from all around the UK – some of the affordable and sustainable travel options include the Eurostar train direct from St Pancras International to Rotterdam Centraal in just over three hours, and coach packages available from the UK’s major cities including from London, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. Alternatively, direct flights from around the UK to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are available daily, with a quick 20-minute transfer from the airport to Rotterdam Centraal.

The many travel options to and from the UK makes Rotterdam the perfect international destination for The Warehouse Project to bring in the UK audience further afield for an unrivalled experience.

Sam Kandel, Co-Founder of The Warehouse Project, said: “The Warehouse Project has become an international destination and over the years we have seen a steady influx of ravers from around the UK, then Europe and further from across the globe – especially since things opened up after the pandemic. Euroconcerts Changes Miking Approach for COVID-19 Issues

Faced with COVID restrictions, Euroconcerts changed its miking approach to capture live and recorded events.
Faced with COVID restrictions, Euroconcerts changed its miking approach to capture live and recorded events.

Netherlands (January 6, 2021) – The pandemic has changed all aspects of the production world, from live shows to TV tapings, and sitting in the center of that Venn Diagram is Euroconcerts Audio Control, which takes on all sorts of projects, including annually recording classical music productions for Dutch National TV.

“In previous years, we would record a choir with a stereo mic set up,” said Euroconcerts founder, Johan van Loo. “However, due to COVID restrictions this year, we were only able to have a small number of singers on-stage. Therefore, we had to switch to a close-miking setup – and the DPA 2011 Cardioid proved to be the perfect solution. It not only has a great, natural sound, it also looks nice on camera because it is not obtrusive.”

How To Choose Your Next Studio Microphone – The Complete Guide

A longtime user of DPA, van Loo got his start with the brand when it was still part of the Brüel & Kjær family. “Since I first began using DPA’s small diaphragm microphones, all of the artists with whom I work have come to prefer DPA over other brands,” he says. “They especially love them for close-miking their instruments because the mics sound better and provide more gain before feedback. It’s been the same for vocals, especially since the launch of the d:facto 4018V.”

Included among the Euroconcerts mic locker are the DPA 4015 Wide Cardioid, 2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid, 4023 Compact Cardioid, 4037 Compact Omnidirectional, 4099 Instrument Microphone, 4061 Miniature Omnidirectional and d:facto 4018V Vocal Microphones.
