Watch Joni Mitchell deliver a rare performance at Newport Folk Festival

This year’s Newport Folk Festival had a surprise guest: the legendary Joni Mitchell.

Appearing on the festival’s final day (Sunday 24th July), Mitchell joined Brandi Carlile to perform two of her most beloved songs: ‘Both Sides Now’ and ‘A Case Of You’.

She also stepped up to play the guitar solo from ‘Just Like This Train’, with the audience erupting into cheers at the end.

Having stopped touring in the early 2000s, Mitchell has only made a handful of public appearances since. Most recently, she performed at this year’s MusiCares’ 2022 Person of the Year gala.
