York: FortyFive Vinyl café proprietor Ian Reid on nation music plans
Ian Reid and his spouse Rebecca took over FortyFive Vinyl café in Micklegate final November.

Live music is what drew him to the enterprise, he says, after dwelling in York for ten years and feeling there was an absence of nation gigs.
Ian’s intention is for the venue to be a “small and intimate” place for acts to make a reputation for themselves.
“We’re not attempting to do what everybody else does,” he says. “We don’t wish to do cowl bands. We haven’t received an open mic evening. Other folks do that actually nicely.”

“People are available and like what we have now executed,” Ian says. Some of the pictures are by him and items of memorabilia – together with signed guitars – are from his private assortment.
