Age UK store opens in The Shambles, Worcester

Age UK’s new charity store opened within the former unit occupied by Hallowood Furniture, on The Shambles, on Thursday morning, (August 8). 

Mandy Brookes, who’s cluster supervisor of the brand new store in addition to supervisor of Age UK store in Mealcheapen Street, stated: "We had an enormous queue once we opened at 10am this morning.

"Given the rain it was shocking.

"There had been individuals who had regarded by way of the window and knew what they wished. 

"It has been busy all morning.

"We can organise the supply of furnishings objects purchased – we’re at all times out gathering objects anyway.

"We have a sustainability theme – we try to advertise that as effectively."

Phil Parkinson, from the store, stated: "This store will likely be specialising in furnishings.

"It seems to be unbelievable we’ve got put a little bit of effort into it. 

"It has a little bit of city, college vibe as effectively. There is a classic part.

"I do know we’re a charity however there’s nothing flawed with being cool."

We had a go searching on the primary day discovering almost new sofas, tables, chairs, wardrobes and chests of drawers.

In the classic part had been garments, a typewriter and vinyl records.

Balloons had been on the entrance to the store with a big scull the primary eye-catching merchandise within the window.

Hallowood Furniture closed on the store in July 2022.
