David Byrne to cowl ‘Hard Times’ by Paramore for Record Store Day

Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has introduced a canopy of Paramore hit ‘Hard Times’, which can be pressed onto 12″ vinyl for Record Store Day 2024.

Earlier within the 12 months, pop-punk favourites Paramore unveiled a canopy of Talking Heads monitor ‘Burning Down the House’. In a four-and-a-half star assessment, Far Out mentioned their model was “simply as fascinating as the unique with all the identical pleasure and pleasure.”

The single marked the primary glimpse at A24’s tribute album Everyone’s Getting Involved, which celebrates the 40 12 months anniversary of the band’s iconic live performance movie Stop Making Sense. Alongside Paramore, the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lorde, and Badbadnotgood have contributed covers to the document.

Now, Byrne has introduced a canopy of his personal. Returning the favour to Paramore, he took to X to announce his model of their 2017 tune ‘Hard Times’, which was impressed by the brand new wave stylings of Talking Heads.

“The band instructed me that their tune Hard Times was impressed by Talking Heads,” Byrne wrote, “so I discovered it and recorded my model of their nice tune with a horn part. This was enjoyable! The 12″ is offered on Record Store Day 2024.”

He accompanied the announcement with a picture mock-up of the bodily copy, which can be pressed on “pure vinyl” and contains a minimalist, black and white sleeve. On one aspect, it reads, “David Byrne does Hard Times”, on the opposite, “Paramore does Burning Down the House”.

Record Store Day is about to happen on April twentieth within the United Kingdom, with art-pop icon Kate Bush just lately introduced as an official ambassador. This 12 months, over 260 retailers will participate to have fun the labels, artists, followers, and employees who hold document shops alive.
