The debut turned a sought-after slab of wax, because it launched one of many best punk acts to emerge within the Nineties. The EP was reissued on 7-inch in 2012, however this marks the primary time these 5 songs have been formally launched digitally and follows the latest digital launch of the band’s B Sides and C Sides compilation.

Singer-guitarist Tim Armstrong and bassist Matt Freeman (ex-Operation Ivy) shaped Rancid in 1991 following their stint in Operation Ivy. The band was initially rounded out by drummer Brett Reed.

Rancid laid down the EP’s 5 songs mere months after the band’s inception. From there, the band launched a storied run of albums on the enduring punk imprint Epitaph, starting with their 1993 self-titled debut LP. Singer-guitarist Lars Frederiksen joined Rancid after the primary album, and has remained a key member ever since.

Presently, Rancid are set to assist Green Day’s “Saviors Tour,” which kicks off in late July (get tickets right here).
