Remton Audio, Fonolab

While every “Halle” at High End Munich was densely populated with producer’s full-system demo rooms, smaller, however no much less worthy gamers crammed stand area, from Halle 1 to Halle 4. Two such producers had been Remton Audio, and Fonolab, each of Praque, Czech Republic, who introduced an array of analog-centric machines that had me drooling.

Alexander Remmer’s Remton Audio had six merchandise on static show, together with his 383 Tube Phono Stage (€1400), 383 MK2 Phono Stage (€2300), LCR Phono Stage (€5300), LCR MK2 Phono Stage (€6300), LCR Balanced Phono Stage with True Balanced MC Transformer (€16,500), and the RHA Tube Headphone Amplifier (€2300).

Remton Audio’s merchandise look well-conceived and well-built, with snazzy lettering fonts that piqued my curiosity.

As did neighboring merchandise from Jan Snegov’s Fonolab. Also well-built, and sporting distinctive egg-shaped management knobs, Snegov’s units included the Fonolab EQVES Stereo MC SUT (€925), Fonolab Veliferi Series Modular MC/MM/MI SUT/Phono EQ (€3025), Fonolab Super Qvattvor True Balanced MC SUT (€5600), and Fonolab Qvattvor 4×4 Symmetrical Balanced Referenced MC SUT.

Each Fonolab piece had an uncommon visible attraction, from ‘50s hi-fi control-knob geeky and ham operator stylish to modernist fake marble. I’ll take all of them!
