El Retiro, Ecuador, by Juan Alberto Andrade

Ecuadorian architect Juan Alberto Andrade proved even small extensions could make an enormous distinction with the modestly sized El Retiro, which measures simply 9 sq. metres.

Architecture studio Bindloss Dawes added a pitched timber extension to Old School House, designed to enhance the looks of the present Grade II-listed dwelling, which was initially inbuilt 1864 as an area village faculty.
