The Vinyl Factory and 180 Studios current REVERB – open till 28 September 2024

Theaster Gates, Devon Turnbull, Caterina Barbieri, Jeremy Deller, Carsten Nicolai, Es Devlin and Virgil Abloh will function as a part of REVERB, a significant multimedia exhibition exploring the intersection of artwork and sound curated by The Vinyl Factory, now open at 180 Studios till 28 September, 2024.

REVERB brings collectively over 100 artists and musicians working throughout visible arts, music, movie and dwell efficiency. The exhibition will function site-specific audio-visual installations and sonic experiences, commissioned by The Vinyl Factory, from artists together with Theaster Gates, Es Devlin and Julianknxx.

REVERB additionally options UK premieres of artworks by Kahlil Joseph, Stan Douglas, Virgil Abloh and Cecilia Bengolea, in addition to installations by Caterina Barbieri, Jeremy Deller, William Kentridge, Jenn Nkiru, Hito Steyerl, Carsten Nicolai and Gabriel Moses.

Hi-Fi Listening Room Dream No.1, created by and programmed with New York artist Devon Turnbull, will create a meditative area inside the exhibition to hearken to vinyl with an evolving programme of unheard music, together with unique take a look at pressings and studio outtakes.

A large-ranging programme of dwell performances and talks will even happen alongside the exhibition. A brand new work by Theaster Gates, Amplified, will exist as a sonic set up through the day and rework into an area that hosts dwell performances by night time, with exhibits by established and rising musicians recorded and pressed direct-to-disc on The Vinyl Factory Lathe.

100 vinyl records created by artists and launched by The Vinyl Factory will even be on show in a brand new area designed by Ben Kelly. These embody releases by Nan Goldin, Arthur Jafa, Pipilotti Rist, William Kentridge, Mica Levi, Marina Abramovic, Grace Jones, Yussef Dayes, Es Devlin, Fred Again, Thom Yorke, Ragnar Kjartansson, Massive Attack, Pet Shop Boys, Maurizio Cattelan, Daft Punk, The xx, Rachel Rose, Kojey Radical, Taryn Simon and extra.
