Déjà Vu Audio
On A Higher Note’s Philip O’Hanlon is usually seen at reveals taking part in uncommon records whereas entertaining attendees together with his charming storytelling and Irish brogue. This was one thing completely different.
Brogue intact, O’Hanlon was working Déjà Vu Audio’s room. No shock there, as Vu is a significant mid-Atlantic vendor, based mostly in Vienna, Virginia. The room contained O’Hanlon’s Graham LS5/9 standmount loudspeakers ($7773/pair), a MoonRiver 404 Reference built-in amplifier ($5995) with a MoonRiver MM/MC phono stage module ($775). O’Hanlon performed records on a minty recent Garrard Model 301 turntable with a Triplanar tonearm and a Koetsu Rosewood cartridge. The Grahams have been positioned in entrance of an enormous pair of DIY floorstanders with two large 18" woofers and a 15" horn. An gear rack held a traditional Western Electric amplifier.
This hybrid setup spanning many years did a wonderful job taking part in records from O’Hanlon’s assortment, together with Ravi Shankar and Phillip Glass’s Passages and the Penguin Café Orchestra.
