Steven Hall from Journeychurch.television in Norman, OK brings us this retro gameshow-style stage design.

Twice yearly, they host a themed occasion at Journey to assist the ladies of their church join, construct group, worship, and be taught. This occasion’s theme was a 1950’s sock hop and featured Nicole Crank because the speaker.

The foyer featured chandeliers of vinyl records, root beer floats bar, ice cream bars, random video games that have been invented within the 50’s, and a 50’s period Corvette out entrance.

In the room, their manufacturing workforce took care of replicating the 50’s really feel onstage. They added some customized constructed scenic panels to their present 4 bar set. It took them 9 sheets of 4′ x 8′ x 1/2″ plywood for the set items. Four of the sheets have been used to make the instrument shields. They minimize 10 diploma angles on 2’ facet panels and a 3’ large heart panel. Once they have been painted and minimize, they used some 2×2 items as nailers within the corners. They minimize the remaining plywood at various angles. Steven chalked strains throughout the plywood and tried to get 2 items of scenic out of every sheet of plywood.

Their authentic plan was to chop strips of Coroplast to edge the entrance of their panels. To meet their timeline, although, they determined to make use of gaff tape as their black stripes. Steven measured a 4″ border on the panels, and put the tape on in a 4″ inset round every panel. A little bit of slicing with a razor knife they usually ended up with a fairly stellar wanting piece from offstage.

They made just a few kickstands out of 2x4s to carry up their giant panels. To end out the instrument shields, that they had some thick vinyl letters minimize that stated GF.
